meet marge cole

Marge Cole is a native Californian growing up in the Los Angeles area. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara and later earned a Masters’ degree at Syracuse University in New York. She taught high school Social Studies and English and served as Principal and Director of Student Services in the San Diego, CA area before retiring. While serving as principal, she joined the Santee/Lakeside Rotary Club in District 5340 in 1996 and was President of the Club in 2002-03.

Marge has held a number of positions at the Club, District, and Zone level in Rotary including:

  • Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team Leader to Central Mexico (D4180) Spring 2002.

  • District 5340 GSE Chair 2002-03

  • District Rotary Foundation Committee Chair (2004-2007 & 2019-2022)

  • Ambassadorial Scholar Sponsor (2011)

  • District 5340 Governor (2009-10)

  • Council on Legislation Representative (2013)

  • District Youth Services Chair (2013-16)

  • Rotary Grants Committee Chair for the District Rotary Foundation Committee (2010-2016)

  • Chair of Southwest PETS in Los Angeles 2011

  • Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator (RRFC) for Zone 26--2016—2019

  • Endowments/Major Gifts Advisor (E/MGA) for Zone 26 (2023-2026)

Marge is currently an Advisor for the City Heights Rotaract Club and is a charter member of the Mission Valley Evening Rotary Club. She is a Major Donor, member of the Legacy Society, Paul Harris & PolioPlus Societies. She received Rotary’s Certificate for Meritorious Service and Service Above Self Award.

Marge serves on the Board of the Kensington-Talmadge Community Association and is a Docent for the Old Globe Theater in San Diego. She enjoys golf, travel, theater, and all things Rotary.
