Richard Reeves is the founding President of the American Institute for Boys and Men, the first and only national organization dedicated to objective, non-partisan research and policy development aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of boys and men.

He is also the author of the 2022 book, Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male Is Struggling, Why It Matters, and What to Do About It, described in the New York Times as a "landmark" and named a book of the year by both The Economist and The New Yorker.

Richard is also a Non Resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he previously served as Director of the Center on Children and Families.

Richard writes for a wide range of publications, including the New York Times, Guardian, National Affairs, The Atlantic, and the Wall Street Journal. His previous books include Dream Hoarders (2017), an analysis of how America’s top 20% are impeding the social and economic mobility of other Americans and John Stuart Mill – Victorian Firebrand (2007), an intellectual biography of the British liberal philosopher and politician.

In September 2017, Politico magazine named Richard one of the top 50 thinkers in the U.S. for his work on class and inequality.

A Brit-American, Richard was director of strategy to the UK’s Deputy Prime Minister from 2010 to 2012. His other previous roles include director of Demos, the Londonbased political think-tank; principal policy advisor to the UK Minister for Welfare Reform, and research fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research. He has a BA from Oxford University and a PhD from Warwick University.

Richard lives in East Tennessee and is the proud father of three boys.
